The non-profit Gom Benn Scholarship Fund (originally the Kan Pien Scholarship Fund) was established in 1982 by Bing S. Wong, with his and contributions from other Gom Benn (甘边村) to promote academic excellence and to celebrate our proud heritage.

Over the years, many others have contributed. The interest and dividends from the Fund’s investments, currently about $100,000, are used only for scholarships for Gom Benn descendants, and related expenses.

Donations are tax deductible. To contribute, make out your check to Kan Pien Scholarship Fund (the legal name of the Gom Benn Scholarship Fund), and mail to 1746 Morgan Lane, Redondo Beach, CA 90278. The Fund is a non-profit organization affiliated with the Gom Benn Village Society based in Los Angeles, but administered by a separate board of directors.

The Board of Directors include Winnie Lee, Elina Chu, Andrea Young, Courtney Lee, Brittney Young, Art Wong, and Gene A. Chin.
